Frequently Asked Questions
Why can’t I update my declarations?
Only declarations in Draft, Valid, Accepted, and Incomplete status can be updated by shipping agent users. If a declaration is in Submitted status, the Maritime Services Division must first query the declaration before it can be updated.
What should I do if I can’t find the Owner and Operator Codes in the system?
If the Owner Code is missing, users can enter the information manually in the relevant fields by clicking the dropdown arrow within the Owner Information field. If the Operator Code is missing, users should email support.portlink@gov.tt with the operator information so that the code can be created by the PCS Operator Unit.
How will Navigational Aids Dues Exemptions based on trip count be handled during the transition?
Since trip counts have not yet been transferred over to the PCS, the Maritime Services Division will manually apply exemptions to vessels that have met the required exemption criteria.
During the transition period, the Maritime Services Division will email processed Harbour Master’s Certificates directly to shipping agents.
What should I do if I’ve received my Harbour Master’s Certificate but need to update my certificate before departure?
If you need to update your Harbour Master’s Certificate after receiving it, contact the Maritime Services Division and ask them to query the relevant declaration. Update the declaration and resubmit. The Maritime Services Division will then regenerate a new Harbour Master’s Certificate containing the corrected informaiton.
