Reference Data and Search Functionality

The PCS utilizes two primary data repositories to ensure information is standardized and consistent across the system:

  • Nomenclature Tables: Developed in alignment with international trade standards to ensure global data harmonization and regulatory compliance
  • S)One Tables: Specialized repositories developed by the system developers, tailored specifically for the Trinidad and Tobago PCS. These include repositories for various data types, such as industry actors (e.g., port and customs authorities, shipping lines), locations and customs statuses.

Many fields throughout the PCS will require to select entries from these repositories. You can find the correct value in two ways:

Predictive Text – Type the first few characters directly into the field. You can enter characters for the reference code (e.g. TTPOS) or the reference name (e.g. Port-of-Spain). The system will automatically filter and display matching results in a dropdown list. Select the applicable result.

Advanced Search – Some of the fields that require reference data offer an advanced search option. Click the magnifying glass icon to open a search pop-up. This feature allows you to apply specific filters to find the exact value you need. You can use the navigation options below the results if there are several pages.

Tip: Ensure that your search criteria matches the field’s requirement. For example, if the field requires a port, searching for a country name may not yield the correct results. If you are unable to find the entry you require via the advanced search feature, contact support at support.portlink@gov.tt.
